2239 was initially flown between between Chicago, Kansas City, and Dallas. Braniff operated N25666 until April 1953 when it was sold to Trans Texas Airways who operated it for another 15 years. 2239 flew with various airlines over the next 20 years before being sold to Eastern Express Airlines, a subsidiary of Eastern Airlines.  Upon Eastern Airlines bankruptcy, 2239 was mothballed in Tamiami, Florida until being purchased by Ron Alexander of Alexander Airplane Company who overhauled it and installed a new passenger interior and applied the polished / painted finish to the aircraft.  The aircraft was sold to the current owner in 2017.
